The purpose of the annual Pharmacists Day is to encourage activities that promote and advocate for the role of the pharmacist in improving health in every corner of the world. The goal of the day is to draw attention to pharmacies and the good health advantages they provide, and FIP urges all its members to participate for the event to be a success. These themes are chosen to highlight the importance of trust in healthcare and the practice of pharmacy across diverse clinical settings. Along with improving good health, the purpose of this day is to draw attention towards the advantages of good health that they provide.

World Pharmacists Day: Theme

This year, Pharmacists Day is being observed with the theme – “Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health”. As per the International Pharmaceutical Federation, “Trust is a central part of all human relationships and a fundamental element of social capital. Because there is a strong link between patient health outcomes and trust in healthcare personnel. The importance of trust in all human relationships cannot overlooked. Trust is also necessary to health: there is a significant association between trust in healthcare professionals and health outcomes for patients”. Patients with more confidence in their healthcare practitioners reported better satisfaction with treatment, more positive health behaviors and fewer symptoms, and an enhanced quality of life across a variety of clinical settings.

The Pharmacists say that when patients have higher trust in healthcare professionals. They respond better to treatment and show more beneficial medical behavior with fewer symptoms, leading to an overall better quality of life.

The International Federation of Pharmaceuticals originally established on September 25 in 1912. And its members include national pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists.
